  • Registrar of Deeds & Records CustodianWe meticulously record and preserve all real estate transactions, property deeds, mortgages, and other essential documents, safeguarding the public’s access to accurate records.
  • Board SecretararyActing as the secretary to various county boards, we are responsible for posting meeting agendas, recording proceedings, and ensuring compliance with open meeting laws.
  • Financial OversightOur office reviews all financial claims against the county, prepares warrants for payment, and maintains comprehensive financial ledgers to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Judgment Docket MaintenanceWe maintain a “judgment docket” where orders from the district court concerning real property are entered, providing a transparent record of legal proceedings affecting property ownership.
  • Public Records AccessCommitted to transparency, we maintain a list of fees for copying documents classified as “open records,” ensuring public access while adhering to statutory guidelines.
  • Compliance & OversightSubject to annual audits by the State Auditor and Inspector, our office operates under stringent oversight to maintain accuracy and accountability in all functions.
  • Document Filing ProtocolWhile we provide access to necessary forms as required by the Attorney General, our office does not supply blank forms nor assist in completing forms to be recorded and filed, ensuring impartiality and adherence to legal standards.
